Designing a Vision for Airports @ Uber

Starting from the Why/

Before planning the vision for the Airports experience our team conducted foundational research at 3 cities to understand our customers problems and our business opportunities.

From there in partnership with research and product I led our team of 8 Product Managers, 60 engineers, 20 Regional Ops leads, 5 BD, and 4 Design and Research members in distilling our top customer needs (for our riders, drivers, operations and airports) and ideating on how to solve for them, then prioritizing those based on impact to impact the roadmap planning for both short term and longer term vision.

Some of the notable experiences or team launched in 2019 based on this roadmap, Airport zero wait pickup, Airport Wayfinding, Airport Kiosk, Driver Cherry Picking reduction, Airport wait times for Drivers, Driver “Quick Pass”, Airport operations Dashboards and Automated Payments Systems.

The experiences my team launched drove the business growth from 5B to 7B run rate, a critical business area to Uber with its high margin trips.
